Maru Insurance was built on a simple idea: insurance should be shopped, explained, and managed by someone on your side — not sold to you by someone who only offers one brand.
Maru Insurance is an independent insurance agency licensed to serve Washington and Florida (License #22261820). Unlike a captive agent who represents a single insurance company, we represent multiple A-rated carriers. That independence is the whole point: when we sit down to solve your coverage, we compare the market and recommend what genuinely fits your life and budget — and when a carrier raises your rate at renewal, we can move you rather than shrug. Our compensation comes from the carrier you choose and is already built into standard rates, so our guidance costs you nothing extra.
We deliberately serve Washington and Florida because we know both deeply. In Washington, from our Blaine office, that means windstorm, wildfire, earthquake, and the state's unique L&I workers' compensation system. In Florida, serving clients statewide, it means navigating one of the country's hardest homeowners markets, hurricane and flood exposure, and the mitigation credits that lower premiums. Insurance is regulated state by state, and expertise doesn't transfer automatically — so we went deep on both.
I built Maru Insurance so that families and business owners in Washington and Florida would have someone who actually works for them. I hold active licenses in both states (License #22261820), and I stay close to the details that matter locally — the endorsements Washington carriers leave off by default, the mitigation credits that lower a Florida premium. When you call Maru, you reach a real person who knows your policy and treats your coverage like it’s their own.
Every relationship starts with a conversation, not a quote engine. We learn what you're protecting and what you're worried about, shop the market, and bring back the two or three options that genuinely fit — with the trade-offs explained in plain English. Once you choose, we handle the paperwork, issue certificates when your business needs them, and re-shop your coverage at renewal so you're never quietly overpaying. When something goes wrong and you need to file a claim, you have a real advocate who knows your policy.
We'll always tell you the truth, even when it's not the most profitable answer — whether that's recommending term over permanent life, telling you a policy you're considering is more than you need, or letting you know when your current coverage is already a good deal. Trust compounds, and we're building for the long term.
